Professor Brigitte Granville
Brigitte Granville is professor of International Economics and Economic Policy and director of the
Centre for Globalisation Research (CGR).

Brigitte Granville is professor of International Economics and Economic Policy and director of the Centre for Globalisation Research (CGR).

She was appointed "Chevalier des palmes académiques (Knight in the order of Academic Palms) by the French government (a decoration recognizing services to education). She received her PhD in economics from the European University Institute in Florence in 1997 and worked in Chatham House as the director of the International Economics Program from 1999 until she joined Queen Mary in 2004.

Her research interests focus on the application of macro monetary economics to critical contemporary issues. Brigitte is working on a monograph on inflation "Remembering Inflation" for Princeton University Press. She has been part of a team advising Russia 's Ministry of Finance, and has been a major contributor to the analysis of the successes and problems of Russian monetary reforms.

She has consistently obtained grant support for her work. She shared a grant from the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) on "The Fair Trade Movement, legal support and social implications." with Professor Janet Dine. Brigitte is editing with Janet a book on this research for Routledge "The processes and practices of fairtrade, trust, ethics and governance".

Professor Granville is director of the MsC Global business and teaches the core Global Economy as well as International Macroeconomics and Finance at the School of Business and Management.
