I am a bit late with this post, because the interview was about two weeks ago. But I was on my winter holliday so I was at home and I was busy meeting my family and friends. But finally I am here and editing my website so here is the interview. They asked me few things about the software and how I like it. Well telling the trueth I like it a lot:) The original is here.
Edina Blaczo was the first professional female guitarist whom we endorsed, and if only for that reason she would deserve our praise and thanks. She is also an accomplished musician, a productive artist, and a charming person. We have interviewed Edina for you.
Edina, tell us a little bit about you.
I am a guitarist, I am mostly self-taught, but I have a huge passion for flamenco guitar and I deeply admire all the flamenco guitarists. Most of the people know me from busking and from the gigs I had in London. And also my performances and guitar lessons became very popular on youtube, now I have around 4 million views and 11,000 subscribers. This is my profile: http://www.youtube.com/csybu.
You compose and teach too. How did you come across Guitar Pro ?
Because I am a self-taught guitarist I used the internet at the beginning to learn songs and of course I got to know Guitar Pro. I have a lot of friends who use it regularly for learning and for notating.
What has Guitar Pro brought you professionally ?
It definitely helped me mastering my notation, and improving my rhythm sense as I practiced a lot with this program.
How would you say it can be helpful to someone learning or practicing the guitar ?
It is definitly helpful, as at first you can learn most of the songs you want, if you find the TAB. And also good for reading, practicing etc. I highly recommend it!
What did you think of the evolution from version 5 to version 6 ?
I think the sound is amazing in the new version. I always hated the midi sound. And it is great that you can work on several songs at the same time!
Do you have a favorite function or feature in Guitar Pro ?
Loop training.
That’s the best function ever, I learnt a lot of songs like this and it is brilliant for the technique and speeding up your playing!
Last question : What are your plans in the near future ? Any gigs or CDs planned ?
I have gigs all the time in London with my guitar duett DE Fuego, where I play with a guitarist, called Davide Lufrano Chaves. We also have a demo CD that you can buy on my website (see below), as well as you can find my gigs listed there.
We have invitations to some great summer festivals like Glastonbury and Secret Garden, but we are always looking for new places to play.
I am also working on my very first solo album but as I want it perfect this will take a bit more time…
Thank you very much, Edina, and good luck to all of your endeavours!
