The Campion family sheltered Joseph Kenny and James Gillman (RAF) for ~3 weeks in February/March 1944. The airmen had originally been staying with Suzanne Bastin, but were moved by Robert Rocher, when the Gestapo started conducting house searches in the area. The Campions passed them on to the Recoule family in Paris.
Mme. Bastin claimed that Mme. Campion accompagnied Kenny, Gillman and the Recoule's son, Edmond, when they left Paris by train on 9th March 1944 and Gillman wrote that "a young boy of 18 and his sister (names unknown) were to accompany us". Kenny, Gillman and Edmond were arrested but Mme. Campion was not. However, there is no mention of this incident in her file.
Mme. Campion fed and looked after many airmen who were staying at Suzanne Bastin's place and provided them with identity cards.
Mme. Bastin reported that she and Mme. Campion also conveyed two U.S. airmen through Paris in March 1945 (probably meant 1944).
