Steven has interests in the socio-environmental and contextual determinants of health, the evaluation of social, environmental and policy interventions to improve population health and the use of geographical research in public policy.

Fiona MappProject Support Officer - Healthy Towns
Fiona previously worked for the NHS London Sexual Health Programme in strategic sexual health planning for the 2012 Olympics. She is interested in the wider public health agenda and is currently consolidating her knowledge by undertaking a part-time MPH at LSHTM.

Dr Tim BrownLecturer
Tim has interests in the application of discourse analysis to understand health-care restructuring. Recently he has been developing a critical geography of health to investigate the ways in which epidemiologically defined notions of risk are employed in health governance and policy.

Elena has interests in psychosocial and environmental determinants of health and well-being, interrelationships between research and practice and evaluating the implementation of evidence-based policy into practice. She also has interest in how scientific knowledge/policy translates into cognition and behaviour change.

Denise GoodwinResearch Fellow - Healthy Towns
Denise has interests in the role of environment in bio-psychosocial health and the evaluation of community physical activity interventions. She also has interests in qualitative approaches that offer an understanding of 'experiences' in the context of personal and social circumstances.

Dr Dianna SmithMRC Population Scientist Fellow
Dianna has interests in social and spatial health inequalities. She utilises population simulation techniques to create estimates of health outcomes and behaviours within small areas. Using such an approach allows the modelling of the impact of policy interventions on local-level health outcomes .

Natalie SavonaCollege Doctoral Student
Natalie has training in Anthropology and Epidemiology and is researching
a PhD investigating food system approaches to understanding diet and nutrition behaviour. Prior to this Natalie wrote regularly in the press, appeared on TV and radio, presented three TV series and authored six books.

ESRC CASE Doctoral Student
Claire is a doctoral student researching the environmental determimants of diet. Specifically, she is interested in the role of peer and family cultures in the decision-making process around the use of the neighbourhood food environment and the impact this has on diet.
