Teaching

General

I teach courses in ecology, behaviour and conservation.

Large class sizes and logistic and ethical difficulties of sing live vertebrate animals in animal and behaviour practicals have led me to develop teaching techniques based on the use of interactive behaviour videos and interactive computer models. Coupled with field visits to, for example, London Zoo and Richmond Park (to see red and fallow deer), these enable students to get a strong grasp of both fundamental and applied aspects of ecology and behaviour.
