I have moved. I am now Professor of the Philosophy of Language at Oxford University and Fellow and Tutor in Philosophy at Magdalen College, Oxford.

The bulk of my research is on natural language semantics and the philosophy of language. I have worked especially on pronouns, definite descriptions, demonstratives, names, ellipsis, and implicit content. I occasionally work on Indo-European comparative philology, especially the reconstruction of the Proto-Indo-European stop system.

I am an Associate Editor of Semantics and Pragmatics.
