How to enter the Heredity Podcast competition
There are two competitions: one for postgraduates, one for
undergraduates.
In each category the best podcast contribution (as assessed by the
Heredity Podcast team) will be awarded a Genetics Society membership.
The best interviews will be transmitted as part of the Heredity podcast.
The task is to send in an interview with a scientist who has done
newsworthy work that would interest Heredity readers.
Your piece should be no more than 4 minutes long (including a 30 second
introduction).
Remember the interview should not be too technical - a first year
biology undergraduate should be able to understand it.
- We suggest you record interviews on an mp3 player, or a
smartphone.
- If you are not already familiar with a sound editor, we suggest
the free audacity software,
and save the final version as an mp3 or wav file.
- Keep your original files from the interview, in case you win and
we wish to re-edit it.
- Once you have decided to take part in the competion email hereditypodcast@gmail.com
to notify us, letting us know your institution and level of study
(undergraduate, postgraduate).
- We will then let you know how to submit your edited interview.
