Figure 2. Schematic of gas sensor chip

The figure shows a schematic of a gas sensor chip. The chip consists of an alumina tile with inter-digitated gold electrodes on the surface. The gas sensitve material is then printed on top of the electrodes. The underside (not visible) has a platinum heater track on the surface. This allows the chip to be resistively heated via a Whetstone bridge arrangement.
